A line in Conghua, Guangdong is 65km long, with high mountains and dense forests, and a harsh operating environment, for which our distribution network line fault diagnosis device was installed in March 2019.
On June 1, 2019 at 15:49:43, The device successfully monitored a line fault tripping and issued an alert SMS, the system diagnosed the fault as a short-circuit fault at the branch line #8 tower, and the patrol personnel found that it was a lightning strike at the #8 tower led to an insulator breakage.
A line in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province covers a wide area of mountains and forests, the operating environment is complex, and often suffers from lightning, mountain fires, trees and other external forces and failures, and lead to user outages, affecting production and life, and bringing direct power sales losses to the grid, for this reason, in April 2021, our distribution network fault diagnostic device was installed .
The grounding faults was monitored several times on the line at 11:12:44 on May 1, 2020. The system intelligently analyzed and judged that the fault occurred on the large side of tower #55 of the branch line, and sent the diagnosis results to the local line patrol personnel in the form of SMS. The bureau patrol found that the fault was the dislodging of the elecyrical porcelain located on tower 66 of the branch line., which was consistent with the results of the zone positioning.
Practice has proved that this device can adapt to the complex operating environment of the distribution network, locate common faults such as short circuit tripping and single-phase grounding that often occur due to external forces such as lightning, wildfires, trees, and vehicles, monitor hidden dangers such as abnormal discharge of high-voltage equipment such as tree barriers, bird nests, and substations, and abnormal discharge of overhead line cable sections. It can effectively improve the management level of distribution line operation and maintenance, improve power supply reliability, greatly shorten the power outage time of fault tripping, and reduce economic losses and adverse effects.
